Under the aegis of the Indian Muslim Association-Kuwait,Ladies Wing units of Mangaf and Fahaheel conducted a “Teacher’s Day Gala”event on 24 September 2022.Fellow citizens were invited with their kids.It was an event filled with fun and learning too. The national anthems of Kuwait and India were rendered and the program began with recitation of the holy Quran .Surah Alaq was recited and its translation was done in Hindi,English , Tamil and Telegu. Dr.Navjot Kaur ,Behavioral Counselor and Psychotherapist and Dr.Shanthi Ramesh, Director-Happy Kids Kuwait were the chief guests.Dr.Navjot Kaur spoke on the topic ,”Building a positive relationship between Home and School”.She emphasized the importance of relationship between home and schooling because they have a direct impact on a child’s behaviour,their academics and cognitive developments. Students learn a lot of the social world through these relationships.She said in educating a child, team effort is very important.It is a collective responsibility.Her speech touched every mother present and we all took home lots of positive vibes.Dr.Navjot was felicitated with a memento.Next Dr.Shanthi Ramesh began her speech by appreciating IMA in its efforts to unite people.Her talk was about focusing one’s attention in one’s own goal and avoid comparing with others.
The next program was a skit by the children.The program had an amazing degree of excitement throughout due to the well-planned competitions and a charity bazaar too.Tea and snacks were served.A beautiful Nasheed soothed everyone.
The speech by Dr.Aasiya Shahana,MD(Public Health) was on”Revelation From The Most High”.With verses like “Allah makes the night and the day follow one another.Surely there is lesson here for those who can see.”(Quran24.44) Dr.Aasiya explained how our existence is together with our creator.Every aspect of nature bears the signs of our creator.
The food stalls were a huge success.Also there were separate games for moms and kids.The bookstall put up by IPC attracted the crowd.A was quiz conducted by Sister Farida Nasim was interesting.The Mehandi and Calligraphy competitions saw lot of enthusiasm among the ladies.The program convening was superbly handled by Sister Mariyam Afroz.The event was a huge success .Various cultural traditions come together and connect during occasions like these.
